Bomba Dance Workshop
Bomba Dance and Music is a traditional form that arrived from Africa in the 16th Century. The Bomba dance workshop represents a fun and profound way of making connections while learning to dance. Long and wide skirts, which are a very important dance tool, are traditionally worn by Bomba dancers who identify as women or girls. Jorge can supplement skirts if needed for any participants who would like to wear one.
In this workshop:
- Students will understand the historical connection of the American Continent with the rest of the world.
- Students will learn dance and their history using mathematical concepts.
- Students will learn Afro-Caribbean dances in relation to the Afro-United States dances.

One Workshop: $460
Additional or Post-Performance Workshops: $368

Planning fee based upon scope of residency.
Travel (per day): $100

Provisions:
- 1 reserved parking space.
- Enough space for students to move and dance
A sound system to play music (can be a boom box or mp3 player, an mp3 of the music will be previously provided by AFLMA) as well as connect a cordless head set or lavalier cordless mic to (if venue cannot provide a lavalier mic, the artist can bring their own, please notify your AFLMA contact). - Encourage participants who have long wide skirts at home to bring them for the workshop, the artist can supplement some if needed.
Arrival time before first workshop: 30 minutes.
Strike time: 20 minutes.
Time needed between workshops: 15 minutes.
