Poetry, Rap and Navigating Grief
In Poetry, Rap and Navigating Grief, Myles Bullen performs poetry and songs from their many albums as well as new unreleased material. The program also includes audience interaction in which Myles freestyles, drawing inspiration from suggestions by the audience. An audience member recently praised the show by describing it as a rollercoaster. Myles takes the listener on a journey through highs and lows, guiding them gently through the winding roads of mental health struggles and grief, all while never losing a spirit of joy and playfulness.
In this Program:
1. Students will understand how poetry and music can be used to express feelings.
2. Students will learn that there is no wrong way to feel and that it’s ok to have uncomfortable feelings.
3. Students will understand that grief is normal and can take many forms including the loss of pets, friendships, and moving away.

- Projector and screen/Smartboard/TV-HDMI compatible screen (Please let AFLMA know if this cannot be provided)

Arrival time before first performance: 45 minutes
Strike time: 20 minutes
Time needed between performances: 15 minutes
Please send a liaison from the school to greet artists and guide them to the performance space.
We request that all adults in the performance space model being attentive audience members for their students.
Please introduce the artists as an Arts for Learning Massachusetts ensemble.
