Dancing with the Colors of Mexico
The blend of ancient and modern traditions that is Mexican culture blazes to life as an award-winning performer and Boston’s Cultural Icon for Latinos, Veronica Robles, dons an array of vibrant costumes, performs rousing dances, and sings passionate songs. Students try out words in the Spanish language, participate in singing songs, get to try on authentic clothing, and do a little dancing themselves! Available as a solo performance with recorded musical accompaniment or with live music from three members of her Mix gender band or her All Women Mariachi Band.

Processing Fee of $45 added to all contracts
Remote (live online):
School sets up link for remote meeting and makes the artist a co-host. Screen share must be enabled, however please turn off ‘annotation’ feature. Artist may need to sign on 20-30 minutes prior to the meeting to check sound levels. A representative from the school must be on the call to spotlight artist video, facilitate Q+A and mute students as needed. Please introduce the performer as an Arts for Learning Massachusetts artist.
In-person
Solo Performance:
- Input for I-pod to play the music (aux cord)
- 1 Wireless microphone with stand
- 8 music stands (Used to display costumes, map and flag)
- If possible, some fruit (anything but pineapple, to which Veronica is allergic).
Ensemble Performance with 3 Musicians (please inform AFLMA of what the school is able to provide):
- 2 Direct boxes (Guitars and Bass)
- 1 Microphone with stand for trumpet
- 1 Microphone with stand for the lead guitar (Background vocals)
- 1 Wireless microphone with stand for Singer
- 2 Stage monitors
- 1 Bass amplifier
- 2 Music Stands
- 8 music stands (Used to display costumes, map and flag)
- If possible, some fruit (anything but pineapple, to which Veronica is allergic).
Performance Space:
Position: Facing the audience left to right: Bass, Guitar, Trumpet
Center Stage: Singer
Teachers are asked to model appropriate audience behavior for students.
Arrival time before performance: 60 min.
Set up time: 30 to 45 min.
Time needed between performances: Minimum 15 min.
Strike Time: 30 Min.
