West African Dance Workshop

In addition to African dance performances, the Bamidele Dancers & Drummers offer several hands-on workshops that allow students and teachers to integrate West African, Brazilian and Caribbean culture into their classroom. In this dance workshop, accompanied by a live drummer, students will practice movements from a dance or two of celebration of life from West Africa and a song for the particular dance they are taught.The will learn that every dance in Africa is done for a specific occasion and has its own movements that tell a story, its own song, rhythm, and instrumentation.

Minimum of 2 workshops per day


2 Workshops: $700
Additional or Post Performance Workshops: $300
Travel: $100 per day
Pricing may vary for weekends/out-of-school time
Processing Fee of $30 added to all contracts

Provisions:

A teacher in the room to support artist and address student needs.

 

Live Online:

School sets up link for remote meeting and makes the artist a co-host. Screen share must be enabled. Artist may need to sign on 20-30 minutes prior to the meeting to check sound levels. A representative from the school must be on the call and mute students as needed. Please introduce the performer as an Arts for Learning Massachusetts artist.
