Chavi Bansal (on hiatus)
Chavi Bansal, born in India, began her dance career as a Bollywood background dancer. She holds a B.A. in Dance and Choreography from Fontys Hogescholen Voor de Kunsten (Netherlands) and a Master’s in Education from Harvard University. Blending Indian classical and Western modern techniques, her work has been showcased internationally at venues like Danstaliers (Netherlands) and India Habitat Center, University of Stavanger (Norway). Since 2010, she has led her company, Vimoksha, empowering communities through dance outreach in Massachusetts. A 2022 Massachusetts Cultural Council Choreography Fellow, Chavi has taught Bollywood at over 30 libraries, schools, and programs across the state. She has also been a visiting professor, and guest lecturer, at several universities, including Mount Holyoke College, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and Smith College.
