Jay Rosenberg is a guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and singer. He studied at Berklee College of Music and Union College. Jay has also performed with Revels and is an original member of Voice of the Turtle. He has been the chorus master of Revels, assistant director of the Quadrivium, and was for nine years the artistic director of Northern Harmony. He teaches classical guitar, recorder and Sephardic music, and is on the faculty of the Suzuki School of Newton and the Powers Music School.
Dan Meyers has developed a reputation as a flexible and engaging performer of both classical and folk music. His credits range from premieres of avant-garde chamber music, to headlining a concert series in honor of Pete Seeger at the Newport Folk Festival, to playing Renaissance instruments on Broadway as part of the “band” for the Globe Shakespeare Company. A multi-instrumentalist specializing in winds and percussion, he is a founding member of the Boston-based early music groups Seven Times Salt and the 7 Hills Renaissance Wind Band, and has played with the Folger Consort, the Newberry Consort, the Boston Shawm and Sackbut Ensemble, Early Music New York, the Cambridge Revels, and many other groups throughout the eastern US. He is the director of early wind instrument studies at the Five Colleges (MA) and has taught at Tufts University and for the Pinewoods Early Music Week. He frequently performs southern Italian folk music with the IMA award-winning band Newpoli, and traditional Irish music with the trio Ulster Landing. Dan holds a Master of Music degree from the Longy School of Music, and BA degrees in Music and English Literature from Whitman College.
Christine Rua graduated magna cum laude from the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY with a focus in oboe. She has since become a multi-intrumentalist playing recorders, historical flutes and reeds, bagpipes, percussion as well as singing. In Boston she began her journey into the world of Early Music. Inspired by the teachings and approach to sound of Marleen Montgomery, she joined The Quadrivium, an ensemble that performed Early Music in innovative and creative ways. She has also studied recorder with Marion Verbruggen, Eva Legene and Owen Watkins. Chris enjoys teaching music to all ages and levels. She has taught creative movement and music at the pre-school level, elementary music, which included theatre arts, choir, instrumental music and dance for grades K-6 to teaching private and ensemble classes in recorder and early instruments.
She has taught at the Charles River School in Dover, MA, the Brookline Music School in Brookline, MA, the Indian Hill School for the Arts in Littleton, MA, at workshop settings for the American Recorder Society throughout New England. She has also coached recorder ensembles at the Westminster Choir School, at World Fellowship Early Music Week and at Pinewoods Early Music Week in MA, of which she was the director for three years. For a number of years she directed music and hiking workshops for the Sierra Club in CA, entitled “Sierra Serenades”.
