Art Form: Storytelling & ELA
Grade Level: K-12
Scheduling Request

Children of all ages can learn to tell and enjoy family stories. Using age-appropriate prompts, Lovett will work the magic of telling personal stories into a lesson plan. Students will engage in fun activities and games to find just the right story to tell, then learn basic storytelling skills and how to scaffold a story into a tellable tale. Andrea will share mini family stories from her own life, like the time her family thought they lost their dog and the whole neighborhood turned out to search--only to find him taking an afternoon nap under the back porch. Students will have an opportunity to share their stories in breakout rooms, and as time allows, again when they return to the main room on zoom. Students will leave with a story to tell and a sense of accomplishment. Extension activities and follow up worksheets are offered pre and post workshop.
