Type: Workshop|Residency|Remote
Art Form: Storytelling & ELA
Grade Level: K-12

Children of all ages can learn to tell and enjoy family stories. Using age-appropriate prompts, Lovett will work the magic of telling personal stories into a lesson plan. Students will engage in fun activities and games to find just the right story to tell, then learn basic storytelling skills and how to scaffold a story into a tellable tale. Andrea will share mini family stories from her own life, like the time her family thought they lost their dog and the whole neighborhood turned out to search--only to find him taking an afternoon nap under the back porch. Students will have an opportunity to share their stories, and will leave with a story to tell and a sense of accomplishment. Extension activities and follow up worksheets are offered pre and post workshop.
