Historical Perspectives performances are scripted, 45-minute historical dramas in which one actor portrays an influential and inspiring character from history, from early childhood through major career achievements. Performances incorporate pictures and audio and end with actors stepping out of character to answer student questions. All material created by Joan Schaeffer.
For SY2023-2024 this artist's program is only available as a pre recorded video with a follow up Artist Visit on your school's online platform with the program creator.
I just wanted to say how much Ben Franklin was loved by teachers and students! He was so captivating and entertaining while teaching so much information!
I need to sing his praises and share with you how incredibly wonderful his presentation was!!!! The students were so engaged and it was clear how much everyone (myself included!!) loved his performance. John was wonderful to work with and he did such a fantastic job keeping the students involved, teaching them science and history, and making us all laugh. Bravo to him and to Young Audiences!!!
I wanted to let you know that Ben Franklin was fabulous. The second graders were riveted – you could hear a pin drop in the room which I could not believe. The teachers said he was amazing. The kids had endless questions for him. Thought you’d want to know!
We just had the best Q&A with John! We had about 15 kids show up (which is the most I've seen throughout this whole [remote learning] process). They had a great interaction with John. I hope he enjoyed it, too! Thank you again for creating an opportunity for our kids to interact with artists and adapting it to an online platform!
