Galush
Jessi "Galush" Galusha (they/them) is a three-time finalist at the American Beatbox championships who specializes in live music production by pairing voice with technology. Their live performances of original music and covers span the complete sonic palette from the raw voice to a full-band sound, all from the mouth!
Galush is a 2020 Graduate of Bowdoin College where they sang with the Meddiebempsters a cappella group and double-majored in Music and Gender/Sexuality Studies. Born and raised in rural CT, Galush attended Asheville School in NC for four years before returning to New England. As a teaching artist, Galush has since partnered with BEAT Global to lead clinical research studies pairing beatboxing with speech therapy. Galush is a former music educator for Region 1 in Connecticut and has an active roster of independent students in beatboxing, looping, singing, songwriting, and digital production. Combining passions for education and social justice, Galush is also a representative of Beatbox Safe Space, a non-profit that works to advance inclusive and diverse spaces and event design within the beatboxing community.
