DrumatiX
DrumatiX is a bi-coastal creative percussion company (Boston & SoCal) founded in 2017 by dancer, musician, and award-winning choreographer Noa Barankin. The company presents an innovative and creative blend of tap dance, body percussion and drumming using everyday objects, invented instruments, large drums, barrels, buckets, technology, clowning, and audience interaction.
DrumatiX's mission is to bring audiences closer to the traditional art of tap dance and its roots in body percussion and drumming, while showcasing how we can creatively transform and blend them into new, original, imaginative creations and integrating STEM, music, and theatre within a dance performance.
DrumatiX has presented at venues and festivals throughout New England, New York, Los Angeles, and San Diego, including Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, Clayton Opera House, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Pasadena Playhouse, Providence Performing Arts Center, and 24th Street Theatre, as well as for clients such as Boston Bar Association, and globally for Cisco. DrumatiX is on the roster of Arts For Learning MA and Arts Connection San Diego, presenting educational programs and residencies in schools, libraries, and other family-oriented programming. Selected as the 2024 Performing Arts Residency artists at the San Diego International Airport, winner of Boston Parents Paper for “Best Live Theatre and Family Performances” in 2023, Pick of the Hollywood Fringe, and Best of Broadwater Theatre in LA, and nominated for Best Ensemble and Best Dance Production in Broadway World LA, their performances have been described as “Energizing, original, well-crafted, & impressively virtuosic” as well as “Electrifying” and “full of enticing rhythms, clever execution, and high production quality that make this company a must-see!”.

Testimonials
Drumming life into the old Opera House...and excitment into the hearts of our TI elementary students! I had the pleasure to attend the DrumatiX show here at the Clayton Opera House accompanying two special ed students. I was initially a bit worried how the student I was with would be able to handle sitting in his seat throughout the whole show considering he is sensitive to sound. However, after only a few minutes it became clear that my worries were completely unfounded as the student took his earmuffs off so he could get more involved in the music. Noa and her troupe are very talented musicians, but more important to me, they do care about their audience and involve them to make sure that they have a wonderful experience. Right from the start they involved the kids in their program making it a fun, interactive performance that I'm sure will leave a lasting impression on all who attended. Thank you so much!!!
